General
Most commonly related to the idea of auras. Any conscious entity induces some amount of flux and/or disturbance in the the Field. The level of flux is directly correlated with the total throughput enacted on the Field at any given time.
Analogy
Think of the Field like a pond with a smooth, undisturbed surface. Now imagine any conscious entity like a fish, in said pond, attached to a fisherman’s bobber. As the fish tugs on the line, the bobber moves up and down on the surface. The harder the fish tries to pull, the larger the displacement of the bobber and the bigger the ripples on the surface will be. The more frequently the fish pulls on the line, the shorter the spacing would be between the ripples. The flux is like amount of ripples per unit time traveling across the ponds surface. (I like this analogy so much I am going to move it to its own page and expand on it!)
Dynamics
The Field in the immediate vicinity of a conscious entity is constantly changing in accordance with the nature of that entity’s consciousness. The simplest way to express this idea is via the levels of consciousness. The higher levels of consciousness correspond to
Idle
This is the state the field tends to be in the spatial vicinity of a magi who is inert or is not actively sequencing. The field still fluxes, but it happens at a drastically lower frequency.
Anatomy
There are difference schools of thought on the shape flow of the Æther Field in the immediate vicinity of a caster.
A magi’s consciousness forms a ring singularity within the Æther Field which in-turn forms a torus of activated nodes.
